Mission hospital

Case study

This project was a WiFi refresh that involved 168 APs, all with enclosures, for security purposes. Doctors and visitors had been complaining about spotty or non-existent coverage. The project encompassed all areas of the hospital (four medical office buildings, each with separate and different requirements), and the timeline was tight.

All APs were installed with requisite security enclosures, with wire testing and cut-overs completed ahead of scheduled. The customer was very pleased with the results.

Challenge
The customer was interested in maximizing their WiFi coverage for their staff and patrons. A large county contract was in place to provide for these services.
Solution
Embee performed a heat map survey to identify problem areas and analyze patron populations during specific times of day. With this information, we designed a futurized WiFi architecture that would not only solve the existing problem but anticipate visitor increases.
